As things happen quickly during the campaign, events can unfold rapidly and the Lubbock Democratic Party may have quickly breaking news or last minute events announcements. They will be posted here as soon as we can get to our computer but you won’t see them until you get to yours. Twitter solves this. Twitter is a “What’s happening now” internet site where you can follow what’s happening for others. We have a Twitter account and send posts or Tweets when something is up for the party. We’ll announce events, changes and happenings, usually 1-5 times a week. The most up-to-date news comes from getting our posts as text messages to your cellphone. Simply send “follow lubbockdems” as a text message to 40404. When we post a Twitter update you will receive it as a text message on your phone. You can stop or pause alerts at any time by sending “off lubbockdems” to 40404 and resume them by sending “on lubbockdems”. Your carrier’s normal text charges will apply. So you have an idea of the number of texts involved, we sent out 5 messages in the month of August.
You don’t need a Twitter account to follow from your phone but if you want an account you can open one for free at www.twitter.com.

It was a great presence for the party. Thanks to Rex Castle and all those who participated for all their efforts.
